You have enough going on in your life. Make time in your schedule to have fun and play. Play is a great way to de-stress, spend time with friends and family and a way to bring movement into your day. Oh, and go outside!
2. Stop Beating Yourself Up
If you are 40 years old with a full-time job and kids, don’t kill yourself for not being the same weight you were in college. That was a long time ago and your life was totally different. Instead, create realistic and healthy goals for where you are right now.
3. Say “No” More Than You Say “Yes”
Cherish the people, time and events that you love. When you say “No” to the things that you don’t want to do, you make so much more space for the things you want to do. It’s not selfish, you are taking care of you.
4. Eat The Damn Cookie
Cookies and many other items in your diet may not be that great for you but, it is okay to treat yourself once in awhile. Enjoy that cookie and savor every bite. If you really enjoy the act of eating something decadent, you will enjoy it more and probably eat less of it.
5. Money Isn’t Everything
Money isn’t everything, it just gives you options. Find out what you really want in life and direct your energy towards that. Meaningless spending just gives you more crap you have to deal with. Simplify, simplify simplify.
